20/11/07 - Wouter Bigaré candidate for PMI Belgium board

After evolving through most of the software development functions, Wouter became a software development manager for a software package. Software development projects and product roadmaps filled his daily work and the first project management courses were certainly not a luxury!

During one of these courses he got to know PMI and he became a member of PMI on 24th of May 2001.

After a while, he moved on to the business side as a project manager. A whole different ball game but it was fun!

Eager to learn more and more about project management he read a lot about project management and followed another PM course. Now, he was ready to apply for the PMP exam!  Finally, after having the intentions for many years, he passed the PMP exam on 20th of November 2004 and became a certified project management professional (PMP).

After participating in and running asset management development and business process improvement projects and tool implementations for 9 years he felt the need to do more with his Project Management knowledge and experience.

In March 2006 he joined the Prosource Team and became a full time Project and Process Coach.
He is now participating and running Project Management Improvement projects in software delivery environments and he also teaches e.g. a Practical Project Management and a PMP preparation course.
PMBOK, PRINCE2, CMMI, COBIT and other frameworks are used in his projects and it is a lot of fun to interpret and implement industry standards, tailored to the needs of the customer.

These last years PMI-Belgium has offered many opportunities to participate in and learn more about several project management topics. Not to forget the networking events that enables us to share experiences!
It would be an honour to participate in this PMI-Belgium team!

Wouter graduated as a Licentiate of Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp and as a Master in industrial company policy from Ehsal.
He lives together with Phaedra and his 2 children Axelle and Xander in Heist-op-den-Berg.
